The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Trust has an independent board of seven trustees, including two Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority Members. It has a governing document – our CIO Constitution.

The Trust was established by the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority but is entirely independent. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) sets out how the Trust and Authority will work together during the Trust’s first five-years.

The Trust’s core costs for the first five years will be covered by the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority, meaning the Trust can focus all funds raised on important projects within the National Park.

The National Park needs a Trust to address a growing challenge faced by the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park of not having sufficient funds to protect and care for this truly special place, due to a sustained period of statutory funding cuts and ever growing environmental pressures. As a result in May 2018 a decision was taken by the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority to invest and support the development of an independent charity to help care and protect the National Park.
